Day 2 Buenos Aires
You’re off on a sightseeing journey around the elegant turn-of-the-century districts that earned Buenos Aires the nickname of the ‘Paris of South America’. Wander the cobbled alleys of San Telmo and see the many impressive buildings and streets, including the Cathedral, the Palace of Congress and the Avenida de Mayo.
In the evening, enjoy a typical Argentinian meal before settling down to watch a traditional tango show.
Day 3 Buenos Aires
Today you’re venturing out into the pampas prairies to explore the land of the gaucho. Head to the frontier town of San Antonio de Areco, with its master artisans and silversmiths, and see La Bamba de Areco, a landmark ranch-turned-holiday spot, for a barbecue with views of the sweeping plains.
Day 4 Buenos Aires – Ushuaia
Board your flight to Ushuaia, the world’s southernmost city perched on the shores of the Beagle Channel. Your guide will greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. You’ll have the rest of the day to relax and explore.
Day 5 Ushuaia
Spend the day at Lapataia, located in the Tierra del Fuego National Park, which borders the Beagle Channel across the valley of the Pipo River. Enjoy a captivating landscape of hills scarred by long-extinguished forest fires, marshy river beds crossed with logs courtesy of the local beaver population and mountain slopes covered in colourful lenga beech trees.
Day 6 Ushuaia – Calafate
Touch down in the beautiful town of Calafate, popular for its access to the striking natural landscapes of Los Glaciares National Park. Check in to your next hotel, ready to explore further tomorrow.
Day 7 Calafate
Next stop is the 30-kilometre-long Perito Moreno Glacier. Spend a couple of hours ice-trekking across it, accompanied by your guides, sturdy trekking shoes and a hearty packed lunch.
Day 8 Calafate
Sail across Lake Argentino to the Upsala Glacier, passing icebergs and mountains on the way. Continue to the Cristina Canal and disembark on the beach at the Estancia Cristina, a historic ranch stopping point for explorers and adventurers seeking provisions.
Day 9 Calafate – Iguazu
Board your plane to Iguazu, where you’ll be met and guided to your next hotel. Rest up – you’re exploring the magnificent Iguazu Falls tomorrow.
Day 10 Iguazu Falls
You’ll start with the Argentinian side of the falls, following paths under small splashing waterfalls, over rivulets and into the heart of the thundering cascades. Next, take the little train through the rainforest, looking out for butterflies and lizards, before stopping for more heart-stopping views and some lunch. Continue to the Brazilian side of the falls for more incredible views from a suspended walkway.
Day 11 Iguazu – Buenos Aires
Board your flight back to Buenos Aires for your last night in Argentina.
Day 12 End of an adventure
A last-minute shop, a coffee, a wander through the streets. Spend the morning saying goodbye however you like. It’s time to fly home.
