Day 1
Phnom Penh arrival and tour

You’ll be welcomed by your local guide and taken to your hotel in the capital city of Phnom Penh.
Take a sightseeing tour around the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda with its golden diamond-encrusted Buddha, and visit a museum that tells the heartbreaking story of Pol Pot’s genocide. Later, browse the Russian market for local silks, carvings and souvenirs. Stay overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 2
Drive to Kompong Cham and Kompong Thom via pagodas

Head out of Phnom Penh to Kompong Cham via the Buddhist shrine of Wat Nokor. Explore Kompong Cham’s atmospheric colonial streets with your guide before continuing by road to the town of Kompong Thom, half way between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. En route, you’ll stop at various villages and heritage sites. Spend the night at a comfortable hotel in Kompong Thom.

Day 3
Temple and village tour en route to Siem Reap

Visit the pre-Angkor temple complex of Sambor Prei Kuk on the banks of Tonle Sap Lake before driving to Siem Reap. Stop at quaint local villages along the way, as well as the ancient Naga Bridge. Check in to your hotel for a four-night stay in Siem Reap.

Day 4
Angkor temples tour

Start the day with a tour of the ancient and vast Angkor Thom complex ringed by a wide moat, visiting the Bayon Temple’s four giant faces in its centre and the Terrace of the Elephants. The other half of your day is dedicated to exploring the famous Angkor Wat temple. Return to Siem Reap for an overnight stay, stopping to browse traditional Khmer handicrafts.

Day 5
Northern Angkor

Head to the northern Angkor area to visit the pretty pink Hindu temple of Banteay Srei, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Spend the rest of the day immersed in ancient Cambodian ruins including the terraced temple of Ta Keo and the much-photographed Ta Phrom, entangled in jungle.
Drive back to spend the night in Siem Reap.

Day 6
Explore Roluos and Tonle Sap Lake

Your guide will lead you on a fascinating tour of Roluos, taking you to the most ancient Angkorian temples and the town’s local market. Board a traditional sampan boat for a cruise along Roluos river to a stilted village on Tonle Sap Lake. Travel back to your hotel in Siem Reap by road.

Day 7
Siem Reap tour and fly home
