This itinerary isn’t set in stone. Pick, mix, swap however you like – your trip will be totally tailor made for you.

Day 1

Your guide will greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel.

Day 2

Enjoy a city tour of La Candelaria, the historic centre of Bogotá. Visit Plaza de Bolívar to see Simón Bolívar’s statue and the collection of artworks housed in the cathedral here. You’ll also tour the political hub of the Capitol, where you can see busts of the country’s former presidents, and take in the surrounding buildings, such as the Palace of Justice. The tour takes an arty turn next, stopping at a museum featuring Fernando Botero’s artworks, as well as pieces by Monet, Picasso and others. You’ll continue to the Gold Museum to see gold artefacts, precious stones, textiles and ceramics left over from ancient civilisations.

You’ve got the afternoon to yourself to spend however you like.

Day 3
Bogotá – Cartagena

Board your plane to Cartagena, where you’ll be met and taken to your next hotel.

Day 4

Start your day with a panoramic view of Cartagena from the 15th-century Monasterio and Iglesia de La Popa. Next up is the hilltop San Felipe Fortress, where you can explore the various tunnels and passageways, before moving on to the old city (Ciudad Vieja). Continue to the Bovedos, a series of archways of previous military use and now a buzzing artisan quarter.

After lunch, visit the city’s colonial district, including Bolívar Park, the Gold Museum, the Santo Domingo Church and the Cathedral.

Day 5
Cartagena – Rosario Islands

Set out to tour the pretty islands of the Rosario archipelago by boat. This gorgeous national park is bounded by blue waters and coral reefs and is home to plenty of sea creatures. Stop to snorkel or simply relax before lunch and the return trip to Cartagena.

Day 6

A free day to spend however you like.

Day 7
Cartagena – San Andrés Island

Fly to the island of San Andrés, part of an archipelago including Providencia and Santa Catalina islands. This area makes up a UNESCO-rated biosphere reserve. Take some time to explore San Andrés, the largest of the islands, and listen out for the local English-Spanish patois.

Day 8
San Andrés Island – Providencia Island

Take a short flight to Providencia and check into your next hotel. You’ve got the rest of the day to hang out at the beach.

Day 9
Providencia Island

A free day for sunbathing, boating around the hidden bays and protected coral reef, or for crossing the blue bridge for a nose around neighbouring Santa Catalina Island.

Day 10
Providencia Island

Spend the day however you choose. If you’re full of beans, you could hike through the rainforest spotting tropical birds on your way up to the Peak for panoramic views.

Day 11
Farewell Colombia

Your Colombian adventure comes to an end. You’ll be transferred to the airport for your connecting flight.
