Day 1
Arrival in Cusco

You’ll be greeted at the airport and accompanied to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. On the way, your guide will brief you on the area’s attractions and take you around the Inkariy Museum, where the various stages of Peruvian civilisation are brought to life.

Day 2
Sacred Valley

Take the day to settle in however you like – explore the surroundings at your leisure or join a tour of the villages and countryside of the Sacred Valley.

Day 3
Inca Trail: Piscacucho – Wayllabamba

You’ll be taken to Piscacucho, the starting point of the world-famous Inca Trail. Spend the day hiking up to a quiet campsite near Wayllabamba and stop for the night.

Day 4
Inca Trail: Wayllabamba – Pacaymayo

After breakfast comes the most challenging part of the trek, with a steep ascent towards the highest pass of the trail. Continue with your guide to your next campsite in Pacaymayo.

Day 5
Inca Trail: Pacaymayo – Wiñayhuayna

You’re in for a longer trek today, but one dotted with fascinating archaeological sites and Andean flora and fauna. Climb from Pacaymayo to Runquracay Pass then trek back down for your lunch stop in Chaquicocha. Continue on a gentle ascent to Phuyupatamarca Pass and walk through the cloud forest until you reach the final campsite at Wiñayhuayna for a well-deserved rest.

Day 6
Inca Trail: Wiñayhuayna – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Rise early for a pre-dawn breakfast so you can arrive before sunrise at Inti Punku, the Sun Gate. This is where you’ll see the extraordinary Machu Picchu for the first time before descending into the citadel. Your guide will give you the official tour of the site, before letting you explore this magical place further at your own pace. Rest your legs on the bus back to your lunch stop in Aguas Calientes, then take a train back to Cusco.

Day 7
Cusco

You’ve got the day to explore the city however you want to. Take a guided tour or choose a few key sights to visit at your leisure.

Day 8
Time to fly home

Your guide will take you to the airport to catch your flight.
