This itinerary isn’t set in stone. Pick, mix, swap however you like – your trip will be totally tailor made for you.

Day 1
Airport – Kotugoda

You’ll be welcomed at Bandaranaike International airport and taken to your hotel in Kotugoda. In the evening, you’re booked in for a 45-minute spa treatment. Simply the best way to start your holiday.

Day 2
Kotugoda – Kandy

After a lazy breakfast, you’re off to Kandy, the Hill Capital city of Sri Lanka. Check into your hotel and spend the afternoon exploring or simply relaxing.

Day 3

A day of sightseeing in Kandy, a beautiful city set in rolling hills bursting with rare vegetation. Discover the Royal Palace and the Temple of the Tooth in the day, then take in a performance of local music and dance in the evening.

Day 4

Today’s the day for a leisurely visit to Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, with its spread of over 147 acres. Established in 1374 as a pleasure garden for the Kings of Gampola and Kandy, and later added to under British rule, the gardens boast more than 4,000 species of trees, plants and creepers.

Don’t miss the Spice Garden, Orchid House and the five elegant Palm Avenues. The earliest and tallest avenue was planted in 1905 with Royal Palms, famous for their double coconuts from the Seychelles, which have the largest seed of any plant in the world.

Day 5 & 6
Kandy – Nuwara Eliya

Head off to Sri Lanka’s tea country and spend a couple of days unwinding at your hotel and making the most of the breath-taking scenery.

Day 7
Nuwara Eliya

Take a tour of the tea plantations and learn about the various teas grown here. Watch the pickers at work then visit a tea factory to observe the age-old refining process in full swing.

Day 8
Nuwara Eliya – Wadduwa

You’ll be driven to your hotel in Wadduwa, where you’ll have the rest of the day to enjoy the sun, sea and sand on your doorstep. Wadduwa is a working fishing village and nothing beats a stroll down to the boats to watch the fishermen bring in the day’s catch.

Day 9

Enjoy a scenic boat ride down the Madu river through the lush mangrove forests. It’s a wonderful way to spot local wildlife – monkeys snacking on fruit high up in the trees, water monitor lizards gliding past your boat, and cormorants, egrets and kingfishers poised patiently on the banks, eyeing the water for their next catch.

Day 10

Your day starts early with a yoga lesson and ends with a blissful 45-minute Ayurvedic treatment. What you do in between is up to you…

Day 11
Homeward bound

Time to head back to the airport to catch your flight home.
